Centers of Greater Portland
I am the Director of H.E.A.R.T (Healing Encouragement for Abortion Related
Trauma) with The Pregnancy Resource Centers of Greater Portland. Recently
we had our annual H.E.A.R.T Reunion. The H.E.A.R.T Reunion is a gathering
of women and men who have graduated from our H.E.A.R.T groups. We were
fortunate enough to have Carol Van Atta come and speak at our most recent
reunion.
Carol was incredible. She clearly has discovered her gifts and is utilizing
them with an effectiveness and passion that is infectious. She speaks
from her heart in a way that engages her audience and leaves them with
some profound moments of contemplation and joy.
I would recommend Carol as a speaker for your function. She comes prepared
for your specific function and is a joy to work with.
Again we feel blessed to have had her talents shared with us.

Carol spoke at our local women's retreat with a powerful message
of God's redemptive power in her life. She was transparent with us to
encourage each of us in our own personal struggles. I would recommend
her as a gifted speaker who has a true heart for God's work in the culture
of our day." Leanne Van Essens, Women's Event Coordinator, Lebbanon

We truly were blessed to have you as our retreat speaker, Carol! At our
monthly ladies’ meeting held last Sunday night, ladies shared testimonies
of what the Holy Spirit did in their lives at the retreat (and what He
continues to do). Your ministry was powerful because the Word of God that
you shared has resulted in freedom from addictions, deliverance
from depression, exposed lies, release of joy and purpose, realigned priorities,
and deeper relationship with the Lord for all of the women. Two ladies
gave their lives to Jesus and several others were filled with the Holy
Spirit! We are so thankful that you allow the Lord to speak truth through
you! You should see how different some of the women are now! Here we are
four weeks later and they continue to seek after the Lord and grow. Because
you are willing yourself to be transparent and humble, women are freed
up to confess their struggles and weaknesses. Then because the teaching
of the Word is practical, women can apply it to their lives. The proof
is in the results we now see! God bless you, Carol, for speaking on topics
that many other speakers do not cover. Your humor and warmth make people
feel comfortable and ready to receive what you have to share. We loved
how you were a participant at our retreat as well as our speaker. Jesus
was lifted up and His name glorified the entire weekend!
We do look forward to an ongoing friendship with you and welcome you to
come visit us in Newport anytime you can! The ladies would be thrilled!
Of course, we will be glad to tell others about you and your ministry.
The Lord has done great things for us whereof we are glad!!
God’s blessings be upon you and your family! Thank you again for
your love, ministry, and friendship!

I so enjoyed having Carol Van Atta be our speaker at our women's retreat
this year. She didn't come at the group as someone who was there to "fix"
us. She joined us as a sister in Christ and shared her experiences with
us.
Those experiences were relatable to everyone and her observations were
bible-based. She obviously has a close, real relationship wtih Jesus and
she let us peek into her life enough to experience it for ourselves if
we
hadn't already on our own. Carol came in as our speaker and left as my
friend.

"I had the privilege of contacting Carol and asking her
to be our guest speaker for our recent retreat, February 2005. From my
first e-mail contact, Carol responded quickly and continued to do so during
the months of preparation for our retreat. She went out of her way traveling
approximately 100 miles to come to our church to teach a Sunday School
class three months before our retreat. Her desire was to minister, serve
and get to know our ladies. She did that and more. All who attended our
retreat were blessed. Carol is a delightful woman of God who speaks the
truth in love using humor and seriousness. Carol’s transparent honesty
and compassion allowed us to take a look at ourselves. Many ladies were
healed and set free. I would highly recommend Carol to speak at your next
retreat or ladies’ event."

"Carol's engaging and entertaining style is delightful.
I really appreciated how boldly she promoted our cause. Our event was
the most successful yet!"

What is so unique about Carol is she's real. No pretense, no facade;
what you see is what you get--and that's a rare thing to find now days.
When Carol speaks her love and enthusiasm for the Lord is evident and
she draws everyone listening into her world. I count it a blessing to
know Carol and consider her a real woman of integrity.

I have been Carol's pastor for about five years and am very
excited about her growth in Christ, and her willingness to process her
own healing. She has given her testimony in our church and has been a
retreat speaker for other churches. Her message is one of hope for those
who are struggling, and one of grace for those who feel there is no way
God could ever use them because of what they have gone through in their
personal lives. Through Carol's writing and speaking, God has used her
as a living testimony of how He can take the difficulties that come one's
way and turn them into blessings for others. With Carol's ability to encourage
women with the combination of humor and honesty, I would highly recommend
her as a speaker for any women's event.

Carol Van Atta is just as great a speaker and encourager as she is a friend.
She uses humor, personal experience, and Scriptures to bring God's truths
to life. I can't imagine my life without her, and I know you will find
yourself up being uplifted by her as well!

Carol has such a heart for others, especially women. Her love of Jesus
is evident in all she does. Her example of how she has turned her life
around and over to God is a "bright shining light" for all to

Trying to coordinate/encourage women to grow closer to the Lord; grow
together and step out in faith to trust one another can be a difficult
task. The Lord can do anything though and I feel he is using Carol Van
Atta as a woman and teacher to reach out and touch other ladies. Carol
is a powerful speaker who tackles friendship and womanly issues that pertain
to all with Yeshua (Jesus) leading her. Carol has poise and love, coupled
with her witty sense of humor to make her teaching a powerful tool for
the Lord. I see Carol as a willing vessel for the Lord to work though.
God has given Carol a wonderful testimony that he can use to establish
and further His kingdom. I know Carol is and will be used to promote healing
and unity in the body of Yeshua (Jesus). I also know that as Carol touches
those around her she is going to continue to grow and the Lord is going
to continue to move though her to reach those lives in which he leads
her to touch.

Event Planner
Carol conducted 3 workshops at our retreat in April 2002. The comments
received back were all requesting that she be a future speaker at retreat!
Those that attended her workshops were very touched by her speaking style;
her ability to make Jesus real to them; was not ashamed of her past due
to the cleansing/changes Jesus has made in her life; gave them practical
information to help others and to have a closer relationship themselves
with Christ.
I personally have been very impressed with how organized she is in her
style of speaking and presenting a talk. She is very real in her talks;
has a clear opening, something to chew on and a good closing...keeps your
attention so well that you are surprised that it has ended. If you are
looking for an excellent speaker, I highly recommend Carol.

Carol Van Atta was our retreat speaker this fall. Our group thoroughly
enjoyed her in-depth presentation on godly friendship, which was well
researched and provided extremely interesting and thought provoking truths
for us to consider. Her message was applicable to daily life and motivated
many of our ladies to explore their own relationships and the false masks
they had worn to keep others from truly knowing them. After the retreat,
I had women approach me to share just how deeply they were impacted by
the retreat. Considering at times, we have to ask for feedback, this was
a huge indicator that God used Carol’s transparency and uplifting
message in a mighty way. I would highly recommend Carol as a qualified
and “real” speaker for your next event.

Once I opened this book it was a good thing I had a day off because I
could not put it down. It was riveting.... I loved it.
Cynthia L. Riley (Amazon.com Review)
Wow! What a thrill ride. This book captivated me from the first page.
Cults, murder, angels, demons, and several twists and turns that were
totally unexpected kept my attention throughout this adventure of good
versus evil. I haven't read a book like this since Frank Peretti's This
Present Darkness. Anyone who is a fan of the spiritual warfare genre will
absolutely love this book. Incredible.

Great devotional -- thanks for sharing and for the reminder that Jesus
died for us while we were yet sinners...
Dear Carol,
Your devotional this morning was so refreshing and understandable. Thank
you. Keep up the good work.

Hi Carol,
That must have been difficult to write and share. Thanks for reminding
us that no matter what, there is always hope in Our Lord.
Blessings.
Thank you, Carol, for today's devotional. Your words give me pause to
think, and ponder, and pray. The devotional really touched my heart in
a significant way.

Thank you for a beautiful devotional, Carol. We all wish sometimes that
we had taken different paths in life but all that really matters is that
our path in the end leads to the Lord.
Hello Carol:
Thank you for a wonderful devotional about your past and how God washed
it away. If you've never received this story before, I'm sure you will
appreciate it:
A young woman responded to God's call and accepted Jesus as her Lord and
Savior. She had a rough past, involving alcohol, drugs, and prostitution,
but the change in her was evident, and she became a faithful member of
the church. She eventually began teaching the young children.
The faithful young woman quickly caught the eye and heart of the pastor's
son. The relationship grew, and they began to make wedding plans. Then
the problems started. About half the church did not think a woman with
such a past was suitable for a pastor's son. The members argued and fought
so much about the matter that the pastor called a meeting. As the people
made their arguments, and tensions increased, the meeting was getting
out of hand. The young woman became upset about all the things of her
past being brought up and began to cry.
The pastor's son could not bear the pain it was causing his fiance, and
stood up to speak. He said, "My fiance's past is not what is on trial
here. What you are questioning is the ability of the blood of Jesus to
wash away sin. Today you have put the blood of Jesus on trial. Does Jesus'
blood wash away sin or not?"
The congregation began to weep as they realized they had been slandering
the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Too often we bring up the past and use it as a weapon against our brothers
and sisters. Forgiveness is a foundational part of the gospel of the Lord
Jesus Christ. If the blood of Jesus does not cleanse the other person
completely, then we are all in a lot of trouble.
May God's blessings and peace be upon you.
